Programs - Lessons

"It is our goal during the first set of lessons to prepare the student for our group programs."

Developed by a well-respected horse trainer in San Diego County, North Coast Equestrian Park’s school program was created to meet the needs of students of all riding levels. Our riding level certification program enables students to progress by meeting established goals in riding and horsemanship. This also allows for us to conduct separate testing lessons in order to gauge a student’s progress with regards to the objectives given to them.

Lessons are held Monday thru Friday from 3 PM - 6 PM and Saturday from 9 AM -12 PM. We are closed for lessons on Sunday. NCEP currently has two riding programs available. The SP2 plan includes 8 lessons taken within the calendar month and the SP3 plan includes 12 lessons taken within the calendar month.  Private lessons are available for those without any equine experience or in the beginning stages of riding. These ½ hour private lessons allow instructors to give their undivided attention to the student, ensuring they have a good foundation before taking the next step. Once our students have met our beginner level criteria, they are eligible for group lessons. We limit these group lessons to six riders and they are one hour long. At NCEP, our students also have the opportunity to prepare the horse for the lesson and take care of it after the lesson. In order to have time to do this, students should arrive 30 minutes prior to their lesson time and expect to stay 30 minutes after.

If you have previous hunter seat equitation experience, or have attended several of our horse camps, contact our office to see if an evaluation lesson would be appropriate for you.
