Lessons begin at the scheduled times, and run either 30 minutes for private lessons, or 1 hour for groups of two or more. Also allow 30 minutes prior to your lesson to groom and tack up your horse, as well as 30 minutes after your lesson to take care of the horse and tack.
Our riding level certification program enables riders to progress by meeting established goals in riding and horsemanship. Separate testinglessons are conducting to gauge a student’s progress towards specific goals and skills. Awards in the form of certificates and colored t-shirts (denoting a student’s current certification level) are given as riders progress from level to level.
Due to changes in weather, NCEP will offer a ground school lesson in lieu of a riding lesson. Ground school lessons, like all others, must be cancelled twelve hours in advance. Make-ups are offered based on availability, and must be done within the same calendar month. We strongly urge attendance at the ground school lessons. They include valuable horsemanship lessons and cover information required to pass the various levels.
If you are just beginning with us, we suggest a preliminary meeting with a member of our staff to tour the park, review the Riding Instruction Agreement and Liability Release Form and determine if the park can adequately serve your goals and needs. We do also have a waiting list for new riders that takes an average of eight to twelve months to work through. For those with previous English lesson experience, it may be possible to schedule an evaluation lesson to determine if you would fit into our already established group lessons. Please contact the office to determine whether an evaluation lesson would be right for you.
We are available for questions and eager to be of service in every possible way.
